Overview

The words Mira uses, in plain English. Each one links to the page that explains it properly. The examples use Kestrel Outdoor, the company that runs through all of these pages.

Your organisation

Organisation

Your company in Mira. It holds everyone's access, every department and all the data. See What Mira is.

Department

A team that shares data, such as Finance or Sales. What you can see follows the departments you are in. See How departments work.

Owner, Admin and User

Your level in the organisation. The Owner set it up. Admins help run it: inviting people, connecting systems, changing settings. Users ask questions and make things, and most people are Users. See Members and access.

Lead, Maintainer and Member

Your role inside a department. The Lead runs it and decides who sees which tables. A Maintainer can do the extra things the Lead allows. A Member asks questions of the department's data. See How departments work.

Invitation

How someone joins an organisation. An Admin, or a Lead if allowed, sends one by email, and it can place the person straight into departments. See Invitations and organisations.

Your data

Table

Data in rows and columns, like a spreadsheet. Mira answers from your tables. See The data catalogue.

Upload

A file you add yourself, such as a CSV or Excel sheet. It becomes a table. See Uploading files.

Connected system

A system your company already uses, such as HubSpot, linked to Mira so its tables stay up to date on their own. Also called a source. Mira only reads from it. See Connecting a system.

Shared source

A system connected once for the whole organisation, whose tables are then shared with the departments that need them. Kestrel Outdoor's HubSpot is shared with Sales. See Shared sources.

Data catalogue

The page that lists every department and table you can see, with a map of how they fit together. See The data catalogue.

Your work

Session

One piece of work. It starts with your first question from the home screen and holds your chats, one dashboard and any reports. See Chats and sessions.

Chat

The conversation with Mira inside a session. A session can hold more than one. See Chats and sessions.

Answer

What Mira gives back: the words, the figures, and the tables and working behind them, so you can check any number. See Reading an answer.

Canvas

The page on the left of a session where your charts sit. Each chart you ask for goes straight onto it. See Editing the canvas.

Dashboard

A saved canvas: charts and figures on one page that show today's numbers every time you open it. See Building a dashboard.

Report

A written document Mira builds from your data, with sections, charts and findings. It can be exported to Word. See Creating a report.

Library

Everything you have made: sessions, dashboards, reports and chats, with search and filters. Open it from the sidebar. See Chats and sessions.

Using Mira

Suggested starts

The four ready-made questions under the box on the home screen, such as What can I ask?. See Asking questions.

Mention

Typing @ in a question to name the table you mean. See Pointing at a table.

A switch that lets Mira look outside your tables, for things like an exchange rate. It is off unless you turn it on. See Searching the web.

Credit

How your organisation's use of Mira is counted. Each question uses some. A web search uses more. See Usage and credits.
